APRIL 17, 2011 – at Old Town Kensington’s Celebration of the International Day of the Book.  Festivities will be held on Howard Ave., Old Town Kensington, MD from 11 a.m. till 4:00 p.m.

NOVEMBER 14, 2008 – with fellow writer Kal Wagenheim at Raconteur Bookstore, located at 431 Main Street in Metuchen, NJ at 8:00 p.m. Both writers will talk about their experiences writing about Puerto Rico.

NOVEMBER 15, 2008 – Cemi Underground at 1799 Lexington Ave. and 112th St. in the heart of New York’s El Barrio. Robert Friedman will read from his novel Shadow of the Fathers and speak about covering Puerto Rico, at 5:00 p.m.

    Bob,
    You may not remember, but I worked with you for a year at the SJ Star in 1981 as the assistant city editor, working with Tom Dorney and Donald Babb. I was Ira Guberman then (since learned I was adopted and took my real name) and enjoyed my year at the Star, which was a quirky kind of place. Sad to see the Star is gone. The island needs an English language paper and it is too bad that it couldn’t last. All best to you.
